eXtreme weather

We knew moving to New England would bring us snow....but HURRICANES?

The kids were home from school a couple days.

Mike was home from work for a day and a half.

The winds sounded like semi trucks driving up toward the back of our house.

Our power was out for a couple hours Monday and we had a bit of leaking in the basement...but NONE of this compares to the damage to the East Coast south of us.  Our prayers go out to all those affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Linking up to Jenny Matlock's Alphabe-Thursday.

  3. glad you weren't badly affected. My sister lives in Brooklyn and she didn't have any flooding or power outages. I'm so thankful. I love the sepia, or whatever that shading is, for your photos. It's beautiful! {:-Deb

  5. I grew up in NJ and it's very sad to see all the damage on TV. I spent a lot of time "down at the shore" while growing up. It's always so much worse along the coast because of the storm surge, but the damage is so widespread this time. My prayers are with the people in NJ and NY.

  7. Weird to feel so lucky under the circumstances, isn't it?
A few years ago we had a crazy storm here in the Midwest where the trees were practically horizontal. We lost 5 trees in our backyard. That storm was pretty scary!

  10. I can't imagine the power of that storm. So glad that you just had a short power outage. I was listening to the news yesterday and so many are still without.

Thank heavens it didn't ruin your cool bike display.

Stay cozy girl. I think winter and more storms are on their way.

Thanks for sharing your not quite xcellent weather conditions with us this week.

    A+
