It DOES look like an owl. If I were able to start over, I would choose different colors for the eyes.
It does NOT yet function as a hand warmer. I still need to fill it with rice. When I am done I think I will go around the edge with pinking shears.

On to the letter P. We grew cucumbers this year and hoped we would have enough for pickles. We ended up having to get some at the local farmer's market. Not as good as home grown, but better than cucumbers from the grocery store that may have come from another country!
I used the Bread and Butter recipe from my Ball Canning book.
I love the look of jars lining my pantry shelves. Knowing that I canned them myself makes it even better!

Aw, I like your hand warmer! I'm not a pickle lover, but my hubby and daughter are -- they would empty your pickle shelves in a minute!! Good for you for doing all the canning -- it looks like there are some preserves on your pantry shelves too!
ReplyDeleteI think your owl is cute. I bet those pickles are delicious!
ReplyDeleteYour hand warmer is very cute, and your pickles look quite delicious. You have me wanting to try my hand at making both.

Kudos to you for your enthusiastic work. I think the owl is adorable, and I know canning the pickles is a labor of love. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have been busy! The little owl handwarmer is a great idea. And, the pickles - they look like they should be entered in the County Fair!
ReplyDeleteThe owl is super cute. And that pickles reminds me of my grandmother's and mother's annual pickle project.
