Ready for Paint

We've been Ready for paint for a while.  As in, we're Ready to have the walls painted.  Completed.  Finished.  Those are five of the six colors we've tried - seven if you count the first color we tried for the kitchen!  I like the dark, Mike likes the light...So we're going with something in the middle.  We chose Sand Fossil.  I've started painting upstairs and it's looking a little GREEN to me!  Could be because I'm painting over light Pepto Bismol PINK walls though.  Next to the pink it really does look green.

After I finish upstairs, I'll work my way down the stairs, into the kitchen, then into the living/dining room.  The latter is going to take some work!  We took down wallpaper...

...but we left behind lots of adhesive residue.  It's going to take a lot to get these walls Ready for paint!

Whose idea was it to do all this painting anyway?!

Linking up to Jenny Matlock's Alphabe-Thursday.

  1. please tell me there's no paper on the ceiling! I stripped a teeny tiny hall bathroom this summer and it about killed me. best of luck with the project. I hear sprayers with hot water work really well getting the backing off the walls.

  3. I love your paint choices! We have recently moved to Brunswick, Ga., from Tucson, and our walls really need to be painted. They are actually very clean and tidy, but Federal Blue, and pale violet are not exactly our colors. Your muted earth tones are soooooo versatile and restful! Great "R" post!!

  5. a good compromise. If you don't have a lot of light in the room, the walls will look darker anyway! That looks like a lot of work, peeling off the wallpaper. Good luck to all of you {:-Deb

  7. Haha - that is a very familiar sight! Good luck in getting rid of all the wall paper incl. glue... I am sure it will look lovely once it is painted. If it were me, I would do two colors: Light plus accents in dark :)

  8. I see you have some great helpers!
although, I'm very good with colors, I find paint colors difficult.
There may be green in that paint. Look at the formula. If there's gold and black--that makes green. I have a paint color in my house that is in the "family" of colors you have tested on your walls. Here's the thing. Paint on walls looks different colors depending on the light, which has something to do with time of day and also placement in the room.
