Thrifty Sign

It's time again for Thrifty Thursday over at Inspired by Charm.

I'd been wanting to change up the wall in the dining room for a while. 

I kept finding things on Pinterest and elsewhere on the internet and finally decided to make a sign and add some pictures.

I had the perfect piece of wood in the garage.  It had been the back of the bed frame Taylor and I bought at Goodwill for her to use in her room. 

Now to decide what I wanted the sign to say.  Hmm.  How about "Sit down and shut up"?  I could have a big ampersand in the middle.  What?  Oh, that'd be rude?  How about "Sit down and EAT up"?

That's what I went with.  I painted the board red and got out my Cricut to cut the letters.  I was going to add arrows (one pointing down, one pointing up), but I couldn't get the size right so I left them off. 

 

Now to figure out what to put in the frames.  I had these, but I don't like the colors.  (The "Over the Hill" was back from Mike's birthday.)

I put these in for Halloween.

 

I'll probably go with something like this for Thanksgiving,

Then something for Christmas.

This will give me till January to figure out what to put in there for the rest of the year!  :)
