ShAgGy MoSaIc JeAnS

I first saw these jeans here and I've always wanted to make some. I kind of had an idea as to how to do it, but thought I'd order some actual instructions just to be sure. They were super easy. They take some time since you have to cut out all the pieces of fabric. My back was killing me in the end, but I like how they turned out. H wasn't sure about them at first, then she decided they'd be cute pants to wear the NEXT DAY for her class picture. Needless to say, this mama was up late sewing AND washing AND drying the jeans! I also made a matching flower to go on the shirt she wore that day. (You can't really see the flower in the picture) I hand sewed it on thinking I could take it off after picture day. Well, take it off I did, just before throwing it in the wash. In doing so I RIPPED a couple little holes in the shirt! Ugh! Looks like I'll be sewing it back on and leaving it on!! OOPS!!

(It is so nice to meet you! still trying to get around to all the great K posts, before it's time to get to the L posts! ah! working outside the house full time and keeping up with drawing orders, housecleaning, etc, etc... leaves a wee bit of time to do the fun blog reading!)

My dad is retired AirForce, hubby was in the Air Force prior to going Army to fly helicopters and then retiring (he loved the flying, but ..."shh...still recommends going AF" :o) My brother is in the Navy... and many other family members in the services. Thank you to your family for your lives and service in the military.
    Blessings & Aloha!

  4. Hi Monica!
Oh my goodness, those jeans are adorable! And look how grown up your daughter is ~ where does the time go? Caaaauuute pictures. I remember in the mid-late 70's, all the rage was embroidering stuff on your jeans. Pockets, down the legs etc. Flowers, butterflies, mushrooms etc. I ♥'d it! :o)
