Does America REALLY Run on Dunkin?

Day 7

You've probably seen or heard a Dunkin Donuts commercial.  Especially if you live in New England.  I grew up {on the West Coast} loving Dunkin Donuts.  That was back when they were all about the donuts.  Now, they are all about the coffee.  And it is horrible!  People who drink it every day think it's horrible.  Yet they still drink it.  Maybe because, like the West Coast with Starbucks, there is a Dunkin Donuts on EVERY corner.

Well, the 'trees DONUT run on Dunkin.  (haha.  donut.)  We do actually like donuts, but if we're going to have them, we'd rather have Krispy Kreme.

All this talk about donuts has made me hungry, but this post isn't actually about donuts.  It's about my new porch coffee table.

I found the wood for the table in our shed.  (Yay, free!)  I bought the legs at a garage sale for $5.  I wanted to have some form of advertising on it, but couldn't decide what.  I became sick of the Dunkin Donuts ads and decided to do something totally un-New England.

I painted it with some leftover homemade chalk paint, then covered it with a couple coats of polycrylic.  Hopefully it'll stand up to the cold and snow because I don't have room for it in the house.

It's a great place to kick up our feet when we sit back and relax on the front porch.

  2. Your table is gorgeous! Love it! We just got home from New York, and the first thing we saw getting off the plane at LaGuardia... was a Dunkin's....seriously! I love Dunkin's though....best donuts in the Midwest...IMO.
