Xenodochium

Xenodochium

Today is the last day of "31 Days of Life".  I'm kind of glad.  It's been hard to come up with something to blog about every day.  (If I do it next year, I'll try to be prepared going in to it!)  It's also Thursday, which means, Alphabe-Thursday.  Today's letter is "X".  It's also Halloween.  I thought I'd combine the three and I found this great "X" word online.

TheFreeDictionary.com gives this definition:

Xen`o`do`chi´um
n.1.(Class. Antiq.) A house for the reception of strangers.

This may be a stretch, but I think it is a perfect word for Halloween.  Tonight my husband, our kids and I will invite complete strangers on to our front porch to receive candy.  Tonight, I'll call our house a (or an?) xenodochium.  Works for me.  What do you think??

And just for fun, here's a picture of Cookie in her costume.  She HATED it.
