on the Fence

Today I took apart this section of old picket fencing.
{I apologize for the crummy photos.  It's summer vacation, so I'm usually banished to the laptop and the pictures I have saved here are just not so hot.}

{We removed it from the backyard a long time ago.  I'm not sure why it sat there all alone like that.}

{I like it much better without the fence.}

Anyway, today I took it all apart.  I removed all the old rusty nails and set the pickets up to dry.  I'm hoping to be able to cut out the middle sections to use for one of these (Click the photos for original source) -

Directional sign

I like the places on the first one, but I like the look of the second one, so I'll probably go with something like that.  And all we had to pay for was the post to put them on!!

  6. A beautiful back yard with a wonderful brick pathway! And what a great idea for the use of your picket fence. I had always wanted to do some signs pointing towards the places we have lived, but had never seen ones in such bright, fun colors! Our fence was constructed by some local Amish men from a 100+ year old barn, and we have some extra pickets, so that is on my "To-do" list :o)

    I can't wait to see yours.

    Blessings & Aloha!
